Birth Doula Services - "Love All, Serve All"
My hands, my voice, and my heart are the three most essential ingredients I plan to bring to your birth. I take great care to use them each wisely... to speak only when it would improve the silence, to carry out in my hands only what I evaluate first in my head and carry to my heart. Each birth is sacred and will be remembered long after it is passed. I strive to always seek to quiet my mind, understand, and respond in a wise manner that will help to keep your birth a positive experience.
What I do as your doula:
*I will be available for you by phone and email throughout your pregnancy for questions and concerns
*2 prenatal visits in your 3rd trimester
*Help preparing birth plan
*1 visit with your healthcare provider if you desire
*On call for you 24 hours a day in your due month
*I will have a back up doula available in cases of emergency or illness
*Meet you in labor where you desire
*Provide continuous doula care throughout labor and birth
*Stay until everyone is stable and bonding/breastfeeding has been established- usually 1-2 hours after the birth
*Be available by phone for the next few weeks until the postpartum visit
*1 postpartum visit- to debrief and ask questions
VIRTUAL DOULA SERVICES PACKAGE:
- Free 30 minute initial consultation via google hangout, Zoom, or phone
- 2 prenatal meetings to discuss options during your pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum via phone, google hangout or Zoom
- Available via phone and text with any questions regarding your labor and birth experience from 21 weeks until 2 weeks after birth
- Help creating your birth plan & communicating with your provider
- 24/7 on call support from 38 weeks gestation until baby is born
- Phone call availability during labor to help assist with birth options, answer questions and help deciding when it is time to go to your hospital or birth center (video chat is also available if you prefer)
- 1 postpartum meeting to talk through birth story and ask postpartum questions that you may have
What I do NOT do:
*Vaginal exams, heart tones, or any medical procedures - my role is one of emotional and physical support
*Make decisions for you- that is your responsibility
*Speak to your provider on your behalf {I advocate talking to your provider about all options before choices must be made and keeping communication open. I am your support person, not your spokesperson.}
*Guarantee you a perfect birth. I do not believe there is such thing nor do I promise that you will not have interventions. I do promise to bring love and support to your birth.
