Meet Stephanie

Doula baby
The birth of my children introduced me to the world of pregnancy and childbirth. It birthed me into the kind of woman and mother I would become. Each child's birth and life has taught me something new that I have been able to use and incorporate into my service of birthing persons and their partners. What I learned about myself has served me in my journey of attending births as a doula and teaching childbirth education classes. I strive to guide each pregnant person on their own individual path as they become more in tune with their Inner Self and trust in the wisdom of their body. Every birth is as different and unique as every human being.
My Philosophy

In labor with VBAC baby
Birth is ancient. Birth is sacred. Those who attend birth are privileged and invited guests and should act accordingly. I use my Head, Heart, and Hands to determine appropriate action at a birth. What I think must be brought to my heart before it is carried out in my hands. I believe silence is often more important than words. Unnecessary noise and talk at a birth can be detrimental. Every action or word carried out will affect the birthing atmosphere. Birth is spiritual and an atmosphere of love is more conducive to safe birthing than one of fear. I use the Human Values of truth, right action, peace, love, and non violence to determine what is right and good for me as an educator and doula to perform in any situation with a birthing family. I strive to emulate those Human Values wherever I am- in service to a birthing family, in my classes, or in a birth or postpartum setting. It is my hope that any client I may have will feel more confident and sure in themselves, their body, and their ability to care for their baby after they have spent time with me one on one or in my classes. It is my hope that they will find peace and connection within themselves and gain more confidence in their own truth.
